Comparison Methodology

#Why this document exists

Ordo publishes comparison pages at useordo.org/compare/slang-ai/ and useordo.org/compare/answering-service/ that make specific factual claims about competing products (pricing, refund terms, jurisdictional privacy coverage). Canadian competition law (Competition Act, R.S.C. 1985, c. C-34, s. 74.01) makes a business responsible for the accuracy of its comparative advertising. This page describes how Ordo sources, dates, and corrects those comparisons so a reader, competitor, or regulator can verify Ordo's process.

#Sourcing rules

Every claim on an Ordo comparison page about a competitor is sourced from:

• the competitor's own public webpages (marketing site, pricing page, help centre),
• the competitor's own published legal documents (terms of service, privacy policy, refund policy, DPA),
• the competitor's public regulatory filings where applicable,
• or published third-party pricing surveys for industry categories (e.g., typical Canadian answering-service per-minute rates).

Ordo does not use leaked, confidential, or unverified information. Ordo does not use screenshots that misrepresent the layout or emphasis of a competitor page.

#Dating

Each comparison page carries a plainly-visible date reflecting when the competitor material referenced on that page was last verified. Example, from the current Slang AI comparison page:

"Everything in the Slang column comes from slang.ai's public pages · pricing, terms of service, and privacy policy · as of July 12, 2026."

Where an industry-category comparison is used (for example, "typical Canadian answering-service per-minute pricing"), the range and the "as of" date are stated explicitly.

#Refresh cadence

Ordo re-verifies each comparison page at least every ninety (90) days and updates the "as of" date. If a competitor's pricing or terms change in a way that materially affects the comparison, Ordo updates the page within seven (7) business days of noticing the change.

#Corrections process

If a competitor, prospect, or reader believes a claim on an Ordo comparison page is inaccurate or out-of-date:

1. Email corrections@useordo.org with a link to the specific claim and to the current competitor source that shows the accurate information.
2. Ordo will acknowledge the request within two (2) business days.
3. Ordo will investigate, verify against the competitor's current public source, and either (a) update the page, (b) explain why the page is accurate as written, or (c) remove the claim, within seven (7) business days of acknowledging the request.

Ordo will not update or withdraw a claim that is accurate based on the competitor's current public source. Ordo will update or withdraw any claim that cannot be substantiated from a current, verifiable source.

#What Ordo does NOT do in comparisons

• Ordo does not compare features that are not on both sides (apples-to-apples only).
• Ordo does not use a competitor's trademarked logo or wordmark in a way that suggests endorsement or partnership.
• Ordo does not claim to be "better", "cheaper", or "faster" than a competitor without a specific, sourced factual comparison on the same page.
• Ordo does not repeat a comparison claim after the underlying competitor page has changed, until the Ordo page is re-verified.

#Fair-dealing framing

Ordo's comparison pages are commercial comparative advertising. They exist to help a prospective Customer make an informed choice between Ordo and an alternative, and to comply with the Competition Bureau's expectation that comparative claims be truthful, specific, and current. If any part of a comparison page reads as unfair or misleading, Ordo wants to hear about it via the corrections process above.
