Acceptable Use
This Acceptable Use Policy sets out how Customer may and may not use the Ordo service. It is part of, and incorporated into, the Terms of Service.
#1. Purpose
The Ordo service is designed to answer phone calls for legitimate businesses, book appointments, take orders, answer questions, and pass messages. This Policy prevents the Service from being used for activity that harms Callers, harms other Ordo customers, breaks the law, or exposes Ordo and its founder to enforcement action.
#2. Prohibited uses
Customer will not use the Ordo Service, directly or indirectly, to:
Illegal activity
- Violate any applicable law of Canada, the United States, or any other jurisdiction where a Caller is located.
- Facilitate fraud, money laundering, or any activity that would violate Canadian federal fraud, telemarketing, or anti-spam legislation.
- Enable, promote, or facilitate the sale of illegal goods or services.
Recording without consent
- Answer or record calls without the consent required by the law of every jurisdiction where the Caller is located. This includes states requiring all-party (two-party) consent, listed in the State Consent Map.
- Disable, hide, edit, or override the AI-identification portion of the Ordo greeting, or configure the Service to answer without an audible AI-and-recording notice at the start of the call, without Ordo's prior written approval and only where the modified greeting remains lawful in the Caller's jurisdiction.
Prohibited outbound activity
- Use the Service to place outbound calls or send SMS or email messages that violate the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), the CRTC Unsolicited Telecommunications Rules, or any equivalent law.
- Send commercial electronic messages without valid express or implied consent as CASL defines those terms.
- Use pre-checked boxes or other patterns that do not qualify as express consent under CASL to claim consent for outbound messages.
- Contact numbers listed on the Canadian National Do Not Call List (DNCL) or the US Do Not Call Registry, except within statutory exemptions and after suppression against the applicable list.
Prohibited medical use
- Use the Service to answer calls on behalf of a HIPAA Covered Entity (a US healthcare provider, health plan, or healthcare clearinghouse), unless Customer and Ordo have signed a separate Business Associate Agreement (BAA) in writing.
- Use the Service to collect or process US Protected Health Information (PHI) as HIPAA defines that term, unless a BAA is in place.
- Represent that the Service is HIPAA-compliant to any third party unless a BAA is in place.
Abusive activity
- Send bulk unsolicited calls, robocalls, or "war-dialing" through Ordo lines.
- Use Ordo to harass, threaten, defraud, or intimidate any person.
- Use Ordo to interact with minors in a way that creates a duty of parental notice under any applicable law, unless Customer has arranged for that notice.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, models, or prompts underlying the Service, or use the Service to build a competing product.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with the Service's rate limits, security features, or usage controls.
- Automate signup or use in a way designed to abuse the 14-day money-back guarantee.
Content that shouldn't be there
- Upload malware, viruses, or hostile code to the Service.
- Impersonate another business, Customer, or individual through the Service.
- Cause the AI to generate content that is defamatory, obscene, or unlawful, or that infringes another person's intellectual property or privacy rights.
- Use the Service to generate synthetic audio of a real person's voice without that person's clear, opt-in consent.
#3. Customer's operational duties
Customer will:
- keep Customer's account credentials confidential and not share them with people outside Customer's business;
- promptly report any suspected unauthorized access to
security@useordo.org; - keep contact and billing information current;
- provide accurate answers to any Ordo request for information reasonably needed to comply with law;
- respond within seven (7) days to any Ordo request to investigate suspected abuse on the Customer's account.
#4. Enforcement
If Ordo reasonably believes that Customer is violating this Policy, or that Customer's account is being used in a way that violates this Policy, Ordo may:
- request more information from Customer;
- require Customer to correct the violation within a stated period;
- suspend the Service in whole or in part, without prior notice, if the violation creates a legal, security, or reputational risk;
- terminate the account for material or repeated violations, in accordance with the Terms of Service.
Ordo may cooperate with law enforcement or regulators in response to a valid legal request related to a suspected violation.
#5. Consequences of a violation
A violation of this Policy is a material breach of the Terms of Service. In addition to Ordo's rights under the Terms of Service, Customer will indemnify Ordo against any claim, fine, penalty, or expense arising from Customer's violation. This includes fines that may be assessed under Section 31 of CASL against corporate officers who acquiesced in or participated in a CASL violation by the corporation they lead.
#6. Reporting abuse
To report suspected abuse of the Service by a Customer, or spam or unauthorized outbound activity apparently originating from Ordo, email abuse@useordo.org. Ordo will acknowledge reports within two (2) business days and investigate.
#7. Changes
Ordo may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email to Customer's account address at least fourteen (14) days before the change takes effect.
